The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at UT Permian Basin prepares students to design, develop, and improve modern computing systems. Through hands-on learning in electronics, embedded systems, programming, computer architecture, and digital design, students gain the technical skills needed for careers in rapidly evolving technology industries.
Students learn how hardware and software work together to power automation, smart devices, robotics, communication systems, and emerging technologies. Through applied learning, laboratory experiences, and project-based coursework, students develop critical thinking, technical, and problem-solving skills that prepare them for real-world engineering challenges.

Degree Requirements
- 126 total credit hours required for graduation
- 50 upper-level credit hours including Computer Engineering core courses in mathematics, computer science, and electrical engineering.
- 42 credit hours of general education core
- Completion of 34 credit hours of lower-division Computer Engineering core courses
- Includes 4 credit hours of senior engineering design
