Appeals

Access Services will research library charges at a patron's request. They may fill out the form available at the Access Services Desk, and the library will investigate the matter and provide follow-up information.

Examples of reasons that do not constitute a valid basis for changing fines or fees include:

  • Change of address. Change of Address. University policy requires that patron notify the university as soon as there is a change in their addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses.
  • Not knowing the circulation policies
  • Not agreeing with library policies
  • Forgetting the due date
  • Loaning the material to a third party

Holds

  • A patron may request an item available in the Circulating Collection be put on the Hold Shelf to be picked up within 7 days.
  • Steps to put an item on hold:
    1. Go to Falcon Finder on the Library’s Home Page
    2. Type the title of the item, click “Search” under Falcon Finder, then “Continue”.
    3. Click on the item's location link. Sign in to make the "request" to place the item on hold.
    4. An email notification will be sent when the item is on the hold shelf and is ready for pickup.

Request for Recalls

  • If a faculty member requires an item that is currently on loan (checked out), they may request a recall of the item.
  • Follow these steps to put an item on hold:
    1. Go to Falcon Finder on the Library’s Home Page
    2. Type the title of the item and click “Search” under Falcon Finder.
    3. Click on the item's location link. Sign in to make the "request" to recall the item.
    4. An email notification will be sent when the item has returned and is on the hold shelf, ready for pickup.
