The University of Texas Permian Basin Cheerleaders are a co-ed team whose primary focus is to elevate school spirit on campus. They can be found at home football, volleyball, and basketball games as well as many campus and community events. In April, the cheerleaders compete at the NCA Collegiate National Championship in Daytona Beach, FL.

Tryouts 2024 - 2025
Tryout dates for the 2024-2025 UTPB Cheer Team will be announced soon. For a list of required skills and to ensure you don’t miss the announcement, please email Terry Lynn Lane, Spirit Coordinator, at lane_t@utpb.edu to express your interest in trying out. Virtual tryouts are an option.
Program Requirements
- Incoming freshman must have already applied to UTPB
- Good Academic Standing (minimum 2.5 GPA)
- Undergraduates must be enrolled in at least twelve (12) semester hours
- Graduate students must be enrolled in at least nine (9) semester hours
- Must provide medical insurance, proof of current physical, and sickle cell results
Benefits
UTPB Cheerleaders receive a scholarship. The University pays for all uniforms, cheer camp and travel expenses to games and to the NCA Collegiate National Championship in Daytona Beach. UTPB Cheerleaders also receive access to priority enrollment.
