Student Welcome Message
Dear students,
Happy new year and happy new semester! As always, there is a lot happening on campus and we want you to have the latest information to help you get ready for a great semester. Look at what you can expect:
Payment Plans
We have added a new payment plan option this year. The UTPB3 allows students to enroll and start attending classes with just a $35 non-refundable enrollment fee. After the enrollment fee of $35, a first payment of 33% is due on the 15th of the next month. Two additional payments of 33% are due on the 15th of the next two months.
UTPB 3 was created with students in mind. This new plan allows students to spread out their payments and secure their courses. We get it, college is expensive, but we are here to help. Learn more about other payment plans, financial aid and scholarships by visiting our website: utpb.edu.
Extended Hours for Offices
- Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Accounts will be open until 4 pm this Friday, to help you with any last-minute enrollment needs. Please note: Student Accounts will be unable to take in person payments after 11:30 this Friday but will be available to answer questions.
- The Advising Office will be open for extended hours on business days from January 16-18 from 8am to 7pm, and on Friday January 19th we will be open until 4pm.
- The Graduate Studies Office will have extended office hours on January 12th and 19th until 3 p.m.
Campus Construction Update
There are four construction projects in different stages at UTPB. Here is a quick look at where we are with each of them:
- Mesa Building - Design work for Mesa Building Renovation is underway and construction activities should begin at the end of Spring. Also, the larger elevator is still being modified, and should be complete mid-Spring. The smaller elevator is working, please continue to give yourself extra time if you plan to use the elevator.
- Bright Star Memorial - This project is on the backside of the UTPB Park and is underway. Expected completion end of summer. The Memorial art piece that will be installed at the project site is currently on display at the Dunagan Library.
- Campus Signage - This project is still in design. Once that process is complete, the work should begin quickly, likely mid-to-late-Summer.
- Quad and Maple Street Entrance - Design work continues. Construction could begin as early as early Fall this year.
- Library and CEED Renovations - With very few exceptions, these building renovations are complete. We do hope that you enjoy and take advantage of the renovated spaces.
A new outdoor fitness court will be added to campus this Spring. You may notice the new concrete pad near the tennis courts. Soon, a new outdoor fitness court will be placed and will be available to campus and the community. We’ll share pictures and send updates as the project progresses.
