Scholarships
UT Permian Basin offers various scholarships to support students pursuing teaching degrees. These include merit-based awards and financial aid specifically designed to ease the cost of becoming an educator. Through programs like Falcon Free, eligible students from families making $100K or less may have their tuition and fees fully covered, making a teaching career even more accessible.
Internship or Clinical Teaching Pathways
UT Permian Basin provides classroom experience through pathways designed for each teacher preparation program.
Internship (Falcon Fast Track)
Falcon Fast Track candidates work full-time as the teacher of record while earning certification, supported by university supervisors and mentor teachers.
Clinical Teaching (Undergraduate & Registered Teacher Apprenticeship)
Undergraduate students and Registered Teacher Apprentices complete a one-semester clinical teaching experience with a mentor teacher OR will complete a one-year teacher residency with a cooperating teacher.
Interested in Teaching STEM?
UT Permian Basin’s UTeach program prepares STEM students to become effective math and science teachers through a blend of community-based experiences and hands-on classroom practice. With support from the Permian Strategic Partnership, UTeach covers tuition and fees for eligible students, helping them build skills in inquiry-based learning, technology integration, and culturally relevant teaching.
